Default Links & Search Engines

1. I've been getting link requests from Links Manager and Aurelis (spelling?) built pages. Will these actually pass PR? They all look the same, like little mini-directories instead of the "old fashioned" hand coded links pages. I hate to turn down so many links but I have read that it's bad to link to these sites.

2. I have one site I'd like to link with but there are literally about 100 internal links in the source code of the links page - interspersed with open & close java script tags sprinkled throughout. There are only 4 outbound links on it but the j-scripts and the tons of internal links appear to devalue the PR.(?) It's about 40 - 50 scrolls on the mousewheel just to view the source code on a WordPad page to go through it all.

What do you think - I'm clueless!

Thanks!!

Look for link exchanges that make sense for those visiting your web site. Does the web site you are considering linking to offer value to your visitors? If so, link to it.

Default Don't b link

Linking. Bad news is that other topics in this forum are discussing the potential, likely, or theory of sandboxing new links.

That aside, I have noticed when i check backlinks, that the spammy site links don't show as early or often as text links on "quality" sites. But geez, who knows these days> There are so many factors that weigh in. But as for me and my people, we will only seek links from sites that would best serve our site visitors, and we will only offer links, to sites that serve our customers and balance our image.

With ranking always fluctuating, and SE mood changes, long term success seems to come down to thinking...what would g**gle do? What is best for my customer.

The spammy sites get to the top sure, but then they fall. It's the real content, real links, real sites that will win out overall.

So I suggest stay away from a site loaded with links and fake content that makes you scroll all day.

Because saying no to bad links, is saying yes to..not having bad links.
