Penalised in Google for Affiliates in organic listings?

It seems our web site has been smacked in the chops by Google yet again, and in a strange way.

We used to sit in the top ten, now we are at 750, but I've noticed something even stranger.

It appears that our affiliate links are showing up instead?

The only other site I've seen this happen to is World Nomads.

Their link www.worldnomads.com.au ( on Google.com.au - australia only - keyword: travel insurance) is nowhere, yet one of their affiliates is on the 1st page of google. The link is not the affiliates domain, but the worldnomads affiliate link.

This is exactly whats happening to us....any ideas?
