That's very strange... I know some sites eventually die out of engines, but I've never heard of them all of a sudden disappearing!

I thought AltaVista was dead, actually, until last week when the bot showed up and went nuts spidering two of my sites.
The search results for AltaVista are pretty weak, though - I don't know why you disappeared, Grease, but I'm not sure that you should be all that worried about it. Who actually uses AltaVista these days to find anything?

Yahoo should promote Alta Vista, AlltheWeb and the Overture engine as separate brands instead of folding them up into YahooSearch.
Why they don't do this make no sense to me. Maybe they need some new marketing folks at Yahoo that can see value in the brands and build that value. |
