Default Attention Search Engine Spiders.......?

I often see this at the bottom of a web page. It will often say something like this: Attention Search Engine Spiders: This page features Naples Real Estate, Condos for sale, and Collier County property for sale." Does this actually work? I think this is tacky and that it distracts the visitor. This has been bothering me for a long time, so if anyone can tell me what this is all about I would appreciate it.

Default Keyword Stuffing

It is just a tactic to stuff some keywords. I agree it looks tacky and has no place on a site where the webmaster wishes to appear professional.

You asked if it worked; it can increase keyword density, but this can usually be accomplished through a rewording or optimization of the relevant text. I'd report a competitor if I saw them doing this.

flood6,
I last noticed this tactic on a Realtor'sŪ website. We tried to redo his site when we first started designing. His content is fantastic. Any RealtorŪ can only hope to get content like this. He just needs a good redesign. He has high placements in the search engines. Where do you report these matters?

Default Spam Report

To report him, first do a google search where his/her site comes up in the SERPs. Then you can submit a Google Spam Report.

Some people question what good submitting a spam report really does, but I did a lot of "whistleblowing" on my competators about a year ago and many of them were removed from the index (or at least not above me any more). Their removal could be due to some other factor, but several sites I reported were removed within a few weeks to within a few months.

Some search engines have their own spam reports as well.
