Traffic is king

Well it relates entirely with content, as they merrily skip along to success. I had some sort of revelation yesterday. The specifics entailed the utter reality of traffic. If you have that the rest of your endeavors will "naturally" fall into place, albeit sporadically. I doubt that anyone can expel the reality of a 30 second super bowl commercial (reaching 350 million) at $50 million dollars a pop. If I can make 6 or 7 websites that get 2 million people in 1 year, buy my efforts as a whole, on a similar scale of super bowl exposure! lol or just give me enough to make it worth my extended effort!

I agree, traffic is king so long as that traffic is targeted to the products or services you're selling.

You can buy tons of untargeted, worthless traffic but you'll earn a lot more cash with less traffic that is well targeted.

One of my sites ranks numero uno in Google et al, but only 3-5% of it traffic comes from SE's !!! ---- we do put in a lot of effort for low sources of traffic

Is that to say that a ton of untargeted traffic doesn't appeal / have value to the sellers of a product that views its’ customer base as "general audience"...get my drift? Even though the day to day drudgery of SEO and SERP may not yield results in several months...as far as I'm concerned, long term thought is something that every contributing post on this forum talking about PPC fails to appreciate. Even unsubstantiated / irrelevant traffic will pay off, eventually ~ sheerly by the numbers. Even if I fail to utilize the very same traffic successfully, I'm sure that someone will appreciate the numbers & make an offer because they could make far better use the traffic that I have accumulated over the years. (I that’s why I made it all....for resale.) Or at least I pray this ideal is applicable, after all this is my new long term strategy! Gulp…
There are a ton of things I learned a long time ago (in the days that the only avenue was snail mail direct mailings) that lend themselves well to this train of thought. Not to mention the reality of advertising.

Is there a way to delete an errorant post (I've tried a few things and have a couple PHP message boards myself? There is no delete button for your own posts? I feel like a real jackass when I see 2 of my same posts, back to back and am well aware that someone has to consider my ignorance while they correct it! :(
Anyway, I love this forum! I have learned more here in 3 months (about what I think will really pay off) than what I did paying 20,000 for my technical certifications over the same period of time...not to mention your topics are FAR more interesting and pertinent to my individual success! TY all!

Even if the traffic is not completely targetted, it still is a selling point if you are offering ad space on your site.

A tip I gave to Simon and he liked it, concentrate on your clients Companies Initials, it makes for very cheap advertising, simply advertise 'Looking for a ******* search ****** on any major Search Engine'I put CTAB on all my pages, and boy does it work! First, pop open a text editor with a spell checker. Write your text, check it, clean it up and then cut and paste into the forum window.

Next, use 'Preview' to re-read and see if your words make sense and there are no obvious errors. If so, post it.
