Default Linking to Interior Pages & Blending Links to Text

2 Questions:
  • 1) How important (if at all) is it to Link to interior pages? I'm assuming it helps SE's find your interior pages. Does it do anything else?

    2) Is it a problem to create an (interior) link that just looks like the other text surrounding it? In other words, get rid of the underline and change the color to the surrounding text?
Thanks for your input,

They just can't find your internal pages if you don't provide "Static Textural" links. This is a common problem for Flash Sites, HTML Sites using Flash buttons etc...I see so many Sites expressing that sin..... They sport PR4s and 5s on the "Home" Page and "0" on the rest!

It doesn't matter to the SE's if you deploy a standard default textural link with underlines or not. Jazz it up with CSS... Definitely no "penalty" there!

Doesn't matter if tables or not --- Do it!
Ken

Thanks for your input,

As Ken pointed out they are one of the better ways to lead both spiders and human visitors around your site, and in addition they are text links and if used correctly can help the rankings of the pages they point to.

There are to my knowledge no Search Engine problems associated with text that looks the same as the surrounding text, but it will make it hard for your site visitors to use the links for navigational purposes.
