The article doesn't seem to mention the fact that, if you have PHP or ASP pages that you need to redirect, you can add code to those pages (and delete the rest of the page).

I believe that you can also use Javascript, but it doesn't sound very reliable. I suppose if you cannot create a .htaccess for some reason, and your pages are HTML, then your choice would be limited to Javascript...

Hi Jeanne,

There was also a previous discussion in October on 301 redirects, mostly from the Apache perspective, but useful nonetheless.

301 redirect - which is best
