It’s been a busy week for the Internet industry as a whole. First, we saw the official launch, with much fanfare, of Mozilla’s Firefox browser. Then we have the announcement that MSN Search would be officially launching their beta search presence, again, with much publicity. And last but not least, Google announced the allowance of POP access for Gmail accounts.
This means that members will be able to access their Gmail accounts by using an email client like Outlook. Allowing POP access indicates that Google is indeed paying attention to what their members want. Gmail also announced that they would be allowing members to forward Gmail mailings to any other non-Gmail account members may have. These upgrades help solidify Gmail’s position as one of the top email service providers available. All we need now is the official launch (of which Google is remaining tight-lipped about). |

So just as MS decides to only allow POP access to Hotmail for paying subscribers, GMail steps into the gap.
I want to sign up. Can someone tell me how / send an invitation???? :)
