I very much doubt they will ignore these links, however I do belive that the the name of the page is considered when scoring or ranking certain pages.

It would stand to reason that since Google is aware of search engine optimiser techniques they would also be aware of why we use the links page.

There is not really any way of being sure, therefore, to be on the safe side name your links pages something different.

Its better to be safe, then sorry! ;)

If you search Google for the phrase links.html you find over 3,170,000 links, many for pages called links.html .

So I agree with cbp & say that this myth is now debunked.

I can think of a dozen other titles that would be appropriate for a links page, but also many reasons for a legit links page. I haven't seen evidence either that Google frowns on links pages, as having a links page has somewhat become a norm among even non-SEO conscious sites.

I agree with cbp.

Resources
interesting websites
related websites
partner websites
website directory
recommended resources
links directory
links to related websites

one thing to remember is to limit the number of links from your link pages to less than 30 to 40 per page. otherwise they will start appearing like link farms.

and you should organize your link pages by categories or industry.
