Character set affects SEO ranking results?

Please tell me if anyone know about this.

In the HTML of my webpage, I use this character set.
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">

If I use different character set, for instance, character set for Korean "charset=ks_c_5601-1987", then does it affect search engine ranking result or spider activity?

If there is anyone who knows about this then please let me know.
