Default Keywords Characters - How Many?

Being a rookie, I understand that putting
too many Java scripts and Frames are not
advisable to submit to search engines.

And it is true, during my first submission
the results were known as "chunked". But
after eliminating some bunch of Java scripts
and frames, my site was visited positively
by some search engines as provided by Awstat
(a unique visitors statistic result that I've
got since paying for webhosting).

That's certainly awed me but I always have
this curiousity as of how much keywords characters
that I should maintain for possible inlusion
in the Search Engine.

I'd made several researches and I even saw
one website that has a lengthy keywords and
at one stage has a much shorter keywords
(in term of characters).

Possibly that is due to the software(s) that
these sites used or is it the case?

One positive answer I have got was from
Andy Broklehurst - Hitting The Search Engine.

From then, I felt so sorry for those S.E softwares
developers.

P.S. My apology if the last comment is all wrong
but something could possibly be true.
