Default Redircts - Types, OK?

An SEO has created a ste for me, for optmization. the site has a different url and totally different content. when someone finds this site in a search engine, it forwards to my site and keeps the same static web address in the address bar. Even when changing pages, the address stays the same.

Is this something that engines will penalize me for if they notice it?

Thanks,

Another blackhat seo trick. You get the s/w for $20-30. Just key in your target keywords and the s/w creates thousands of pages (10,000+) that are optimized. They use flash / java redirect. Google is not penalizing them so far. But they have the technology to identify it ( or at least they are in advanced stage of developing it.)

Its only some-time before these websites will be banned ... some might have heavier penalties.

btw, you have a beautiful website and a PR of 5. Why you go for such tactics? A good effort in link building and optimizing your pages will get you top positions on major SEs

Good Luck

Ouch! Yes, why gamble with your PR 5? Just make sure your content, title, desc, etc reflect your keywords and you will do fine! Keep up the backlink quest and it will pay off.

Fire this SEO. There are plenty of ethical SEO's to be found.

I will say this about static URL's -- that in itself isn't the problem. It's what some do with with redirects and generated pages, etc. This may be unrelated, but I've had success with forwarded domains (one per site) which use masking, in cases where your host may not host domains. In other words, I've had ISP's that offer free space for 'personal pages' (though they can be revenue-bearing or commercial), but don't offer a DNS for your domain to be transferred to. The address might look like "http://yourname.home.isp.net". The company I purchased the domain from offered forwarding and masking, so no matter what page a visitor was on, the url only showed "www.mydomain.com". I've never been banned for this and always had success with PR and placements. For some reason it did not penalize for duplicate content.
