Currently I have 4 domains pointed to single site. They’re all purchased through Go Daddy and all I’ve done is entered the same DNS info for all 4 domains.
1) http://www.hookahhub.com - default 2) http://www.hookahub.com - pointer 3) http://www.shishahub.com - pointer 4) http://www.sheeshahub.com - pointer Reading through the forums you find many opinions on the matter. People often ask "why would you need multiple domains?” For me one of the main reasons is branding, as in having all related "hub" sites under one roof. Also common misspellings and different words for different countries. For example what we call "hookah" is called "shisha" in Egypt; not that I’m selling to Egypt. Also even though "hookah" is the most common term, when I verbally say "hookahhub.com" the average person spells it as "hookahub.com". All of these are legitimate reasons, but what I'm looking for is a firm answer whether I'll get banned/blocked for having multiple domain pointers to a single site? |

IMO there should be no problem so long as there is only one set of content on one site, with the others pointing to it.
Might not be a bad idea to put a 301 redirect on the other three doomains for insurance, though. |

First of all see if you have an existing .htaccess file (note the period at the front of the file). It may be necessary to use the -a parameter in order to see the .htaccess file.
If you don't have a file you can create one with any pure text editor like Notepad and name it .htaccess . If you do have one go to the bottom line of the code, skip a line and on the new line: redirect 301 /oldurl.com http://www.newurl.com otherwise put the above line in your new file and FTP the corrected/new file to your site. |

Would I need separate hosts for each domain with a 301 redirect to the default domain/host? Because I can add unlimited domains with my host, but it may be more trouble then it's worth and perhaps I should just "park" my pages to avoid any SE problems? Although this does seem like a waist of potential traffic and branding.
