Another result that signifies the importance of dmoz listing:
Search for Arifa Khan on google: http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...8&q=arifa+khan Look at the first reult: The snippet shown is the dmoz description. You can check the dmoz listing here: http://dmoz.org/Society/People/Perso...epages/K/Khan/ What I have done is to block google to show a snippet from this website by using this tag: <META NAME="GOOGLEBOT" CONTENT="NOSNIPPET"> Till recently, it SERPS are not showing any snippet. But now, after this site got listed in DMoz, the description in dmoz is showing up. Just wanted to share this. Any other observations? or Implications? |

This is a good thing as long as the DMOZ description is actually useful (which can be rare depending on the category).
