Default Stupid Question

My stupid question is multi-part stupid actually:
When it comes to Key Words: is it better to seperate phrases and word using a "comma" or is it better to let them run together with no grammatical seperation?

Also is ie better to list your words alpha-numerically or by Key Word importance?

And in addition what is the preferred limit for number of key words?

In advance, sorry about these lame questions but sometimes its the basics that kill ya!

I wouldn't worry about it. Google ignores the meta keywords and other SE's put so little emphasis on them its not an issue.

But
- usually seperate them with a comma
- order probably dosen't matter
- I have only a few keywords that match what the page is about - anymore is a waste of space.

For what little difference meta tags make, from my observation I would say order might make a slight difference. I have noticed a difference by putting the most relevant, important keyword first in just about anything, including keyword tags. Again, the tag itself may become obsolete in the future. But for consistency, I would still excersise the habit of putting your best keyword first anytime keywords are listed, whether it be title, content (close to the beginning), or when you have the option of adding keywords for directory submissions.
