Default Footer Navigation Links

Hello all,

I use graphic navigation on my home page and ASP scripts for secondary and tertiary navigation below that (www.tipsweb.com). I have heard that spiders don't like graphic based navigation, so I would like to add text links in the footers for other (secondary) pages on my site. My questions:

Will text links in the footers indeed help spiders to link to other pages in my site vs. graphic "buttons"?

Once the spiders get to the other pages, will they be able to identify the links generated by the ASP scripts for further navigation?

I'm hoping I can just add footer links to my secondary pages and have the spiders take it from there...

Thanks!!

Chris

They will not be able to identify an ASP generated link vs. an html link. The script is processed before the spider gets any information so all the links will look the same. Same thing with php.

Yes,
Text Links will definitely help spidering the secondary pages. Static textural links somewhere on the pages are recommended by GOOGLE on their webmaster Resources Pages.

Hmm - When you say "static textual links" does that mean that by using ASP driven navigation my site is in a weaker SEO situation that it would be if I used static (HTML) links, or am I reading too much into that comment?
