Default Which statistics package?

I'm looking for a good all in one stats tool that will also report on which search engine robots are spidering my site. My current stats are provided through my service provider and don't even give me access to any logs. What do people recommend?

Difficult. It's very much a question of preference and "horses for courses". It really does depend what you need from your stats, and how heavy-duty your requirements are.

ClickTracks is pretty good, and offers comprehensive features at a reasonable cost... although the documentation isn't the best.

They're at http://www.clicktracks.com/

I like AWSTATS too but it isn't going to help the original poster:

Seems to me the best he can do is (1) beg the host to change stats packages, or (2) use one of those links to an online stats site to monitor hits on specific pages.

Personally, I prefer Live Stats. It's very comprehensive in terms of reporting and it does tell you when spiders such as Slurp and the Googlebot are doin' their thing like a chicken wing.
