Hi
we have a website which is for our small tour operator company in Tanzania. We have visitors from many different countries, including the USA, but we do not get many email enquiries, most of our customers are from Europe, and other countries than the USA. we would ofcourse also like to have more visitors than the 35 to 50 we have a day now. Does anyone have a good suggestion how to achive this. our site is pagerang 5 on google, but if we search for our keywords most companies that come up maybe have the first 2 pages on google for thoose words. our site is here: http://www.bondei-tours.com we are changing the site, as we know some of the pictures, are way to big so we fell that maybe some people stop before they get into the site as it might take to long time to load. But any thoughts and ideas are welcome. |

Getting more traffic aside, I have some suggestions on the site itself:
My first impression was "not professional enough". My second impression was that for a tourism site, I was not enticed to the "wonders of the destination" it appeared more like an organziation of dry information. Work on your opening lines - try to appeal to the emotions of the vistor - what emotions do you want them to feel? be short and compelling. I think there is too much text and not enough images, even when I drill down deeper to find the images - they do not compell me. Get some more quality compelling images and provide a bandwidth friendly way to deliver them (sub pages etc.) My suggestions on the site: 1) Work harder on instilling confidence by appearing more professional. I am very wary as a traveller of tourism service providers in foriegn countries (high probability of a rip-off). So instilling confidence is key. 2) Work harder on the primary first impression message of the excitement and wonder of the destination. 3) Look to improve the graphical and imagery appeal - give them images (and an overall site design) that compell them to visualize themselves in the context of the images. Consider using a professional site designer/graphic artist. As far as getting more traffic - that is a whole nother ball-o-wax. I know you were not asking for a site review - but I thought I would offer my 2 cents. The general question of how to get more traffic is really impossible to answer difinitively. Much like a good business plan - there is no "one thing" you can do to achieve success. Rather it is a combination of numerous small things working in concert that produce results. I suggest that you read all posts here on a regular basis and ask lots of questions. Although some of the information is a bit outdated, I suggest that you read the entire content at: Spider-Food.net. This will give you a good background of SEO. Then before you take any action on any item you read there come back to these forums and ask opinions. You should be able to dramatically increase your tarffic in a couple months if you do this work. Good Luck. |
