I don't know about paid services but momma.com is a curious outfit. A few years ago, they seemed to be poised to become the next best thing (well, I suppose that's happened more than once) and then... pfffttttt... nothing really. Not sure what happened but until I spotted their logo on the banner here at WPW I had forgotten they existed.

That doesn't directly answer your question, I know, but I guess if I were looking for a service like that I'd probably want one with a higher profile.

Well, its been a year since this thread was posted to. I'm curious now as to the original questions, "Anyone using Mamma.coms pay per click service? Is it working?"

In addition, what engines does it serve to?

Also, it doesn't explain the difference between their 3 offerings very well that I could find. They've got "Mamma Classifieds", "Top 3 Placement", and "Network Distribution".

I'm guessing the Network part is akin to Google's Content Ads, but even if correct, I've no idea what the other two represent and how they play a role anywhere...

Thanks.

And what is your keyword(s) cost per click? $25 wouldnt last 2 days let alone 2 years with AdWords or Overture..

Hello Peter, how's the pizza and beer going down in London today? That's my whole point - no one from the UK uses Mamma, but as you know I'm a sod for listing my site. Key Words 'Right to Buy'cost per click 1 cent and when you see it we are Number 2 this morning, but also number 2 in normal listings, so that is also my point (and thanks for speaking up)sometimes submissions to the little SE's filter through

Sounds like my experience with Links2Go. I got a complimentary $80 or $90 worth of clicks, and using the phrase Christmas Gifts got me two clicks. Those have been my only two clicks since I set it up (about 4-6 months ago), and I've got about 10-15 target phrases/keywords in there.

I had totally forgotten that, yes I got a similar offer. Check out www.Turbo10.com
It is hardly a highflyer, but it is starting to show up on my UK stats.

Default $25 + free $25 = 10 months and counting

I deposited $25 with Mamma.com at Search Engine Strategies in New York this past March. They matched it with another $25. I just checked our balance (I set up 500 "Creatives" (ads) and 500 associated phrases) to find that we still have over $7 left. Not a big player by any stretch of the imagination, but it does result in a sale every now and then for us. Maybe I'll buy that dumb word "Tools" which is so vague that I'll never pay for it on Google or Overture, but it won't cost me much on Mamma. Or, I could just wait for my money to run out and then forget that I ever knew about them.

They were at SES in San Jose as well, and they have some nice boothes, but I just don't know how they would ever make enough money to keep the attractive young women paid and on the road doing those shows. Then again, the Google girls are much younger and cuter. :-)

Brian.
