What does it mean when a SEO firm says in their case studies

www.xyz.com top 10 positions for 12500 keywords
etc.... ?

I can't even think of that many key words,

It's probably a true but weighted statement. You can take a random string of text from a website's content, search for it and you will probably come up with a top result, so they easily could have that many possitions, but probably not for major key words. Many competitive terms require thousands of anchor text links into the page along with perfect on page optimization. So, to rank well for tens of thousands of competitve key words is nearly impossible.

Look at www.xyz.com
Identify their major keyword / phrase
Check their ranking for that phrase!!! Now you have an idea on what they are talking about!!!

xyz has no real main central thing, but every thing there has a good PR.

Is this due to his linking to other high pr pages?
