Default Need Backlink Answers

Does anyone know why when I type +www.endlesstechnologies.com in the google search bar I get a few backlinks, but when I type link:www.endlesstechnologies.com into the google search bar it says that it did not match any documents.

Also, I realize that not all links are ever shown, but we actually have about 20 links so far (that I am aware of), but only two are actually showing. Is it true that only about 2% will only come up?

I also checked out www.widexl.com/remote/link-popularity/index.html to look for backlinks for search engines other than google and it showed 0 links across the board (including for Google).

Our new site is actually a yahoo store, so the actual URL is http://store.endlesstechnologies.com/index.html. I suppose we must have a redirect from endlesstechnologies.com (which was online for several years). Could this be interfering with SEO in any way?

Any suggestions would help. We've been live for about a month now and are nowhere to be found in any of the search engines (except when searching for "Endless Technologies" in Google). We also still have a PR of 0... I know, I know - links, links, links (and the accompanying anchor text) - but a lot of sites won't link to us because we have a PR of 0 and unfortunately, people still consider that when doing their link programs. Help!

Using the link: query google only shows a sample of links. And they usually show only PR4 and higher. using the + search, google is looking at page content so the results are updated continuously as google indexes sites and links. The backlinks using the link: search are updated only every 4 - 6 weeks so it takes a lot longer to see any results that way.

Make Sure you are doing a 301 redirect. This will prevent you from being penalized in google.

Default 301 redirect

Can you explain the 301 redirect a little more - I will need to explain this to other individuals and am afraid I'm not sure what it is/entails.

If we are not doing a 301 redirect - how will we be penalized?

americana, the search engines penalize your for duplicate content. A 301 Permanent Redirect tells the search engines that all of your domain names/websites have permanently moved to a new location, your main website/domain name.

Typically, this is used when you change your web address. Google explains this here:
