Webnauts is setting a new standard with his directory.
I would expect it to excel over time. Already he is getting inquiries and listings from high ranking institutional sites etc... Please make sure and visit his directory and determine if your sites qualify. Ken

Tried to register at your site http://www.hedir.com and no matter which of my email addresses I use it says "The name you have chosen is already exist, so try with some other name." How can this be?

Hello Country Joe,
Problem with submitting a redirect or "forward". Redirects are not allowed simply because if you submit a site then that should be the site the person lands on when they are viewing your site and not a forwarded url or redirect. On top of the "forward" you also are using a subdomain which cannot be submitted. Allowing subdomains turns into allowing things such as indiana.realestate.com illinois.realestate.com kentucky.realestate.com and so on... Listing each one of these only because they are different states wouldn't be accptable for a directory to have quality sites in its listing when only realestate.com would need to be submitted. Our policy of not allowing subdomains takes any guesswork out of what could turn into many spam subdomain submissions. It couldn't hurt to have a real domain rather than work off of someone else with a subdomain.

Would article directory sites count as directories. I understand you have to submit an article, but I see these sites everywhere and they seem to be a decent source of backlinks and will get your article out there.

www.findtheneedle.co.uk If you have a UK site you need the Applegate traffic, it may be costly but for my site it generates 7% more traffic than MSN ?? Yahoo is not even classed as bringing in a significant amount by comparison.....

What is irritating about Applegate.co.uk is that they redirect all the urls through their own domain, even if you pay for advertising. So there is no SEO benefit. You are solely dependent on their promise of traffic.
Anyone have an up-to-date list of bona-fide, UK directories?
