Default Websites in the Netherlands and Belgium

I noticed no directory for sites in Belgium and the Netherlands.
So i added a forum where webmasters can add websites (and give a discription off it) for Belgium and Holland market.

Since the idea behind my site is to promote online shopping overhere i think this is a good idea.
Promote your site for Belgium and Netherlands market

I have also a little Search Engine where websites can be included if they have online promotions or offers(E-aanbiedingen = E-offers).
For inclusion i ask to place a searchbox, link or something else that gives me a little return.

Oh boy ... there seems to be so much information here -- you guys appear to be so much at ease with this stuff -- it is overwhelming for me.

I have a new site http://www.energyefficientbuild.com. Not only I am struggling with incoming links, my content and writing style also needs adapting for the web, and I have done a very poor job with my keywords too. I foolishly changed some key words and my alexa ranking went from some 153000 to 900000 plus. My PR is 3 -- I am struggling and I hope I will make things click for me -- so please wish me luck, visit my site and if you have a relevant site please link to mine.

Default True Page Rank benefit from directories?

Hi, a lot of people go on about the value of being in the big directories like yahoo with a high page rank, and how an element of it's PR Value will transfer to your site.

My site is in most of them, but I did a search on four page rank NINE directories and every results page my site was listed in is Page rank ZERO. I can see the benefit of having a link on even a small site which has reasonable page rank but is there really any direct knock on benefit to your own PAGE RANK being in these larger directories if the results page you are on is page rank ZERO

My site is in most of them and directories like yahoo are well visited and I think the main purpose of links should be to attract relevant visitors not increase your page rank as its meaningless to most people who visit a site anyway.I just wanted to clarify with others if those PR ZERO results page will benefit my own Page Rank directly.

Thanks
Peter

You did a search. Engines don't fill in boxes and hit "Submit", which is why the search results are PR0. They follow the directory structure and find the links to your site that way. If you follow the same logical pattern, you'll most likely see some green bar on the page your site is on as well.

Brian.

Yes Brian, you are in fact correct regarding the green bar, there is a PR 3 on the yahoo results page i am on, with this in mind, fo PR benefit purposes would i be just as well off on a smaller site with a links page of PR 3 too? Or for that matter better off, if it is a nich site in my market and that there is no outlay. I accept that yahoo wil have more visitors but we are talking PR transfer benefit here.Coincidentally I got this link in email yesterday from Brad Callen of seo elite, which is related to the above. http://www.seoelite.com/Lessons/HTML...egies11-ry.htm

Thanks Peter

Default registering to jayde directory

Hi,

I'm new to this forum so I hope this is the correct place to post this.

I've started submitting to some of the directories listed in this thread including the Jayde directory... which I now realize is a sister site to this one.

My question is, I keep getting emails from Jayde asking me to confirm my submission. However, the links on the email do not seem to lead to a confirmation page. Am I missing something?

I've tried emailing them, but have not received a reply.

How am I supposed to confirm my submission if they don't provide a clear link to a confirmation page?

Any ideas?
Dean

I suggest Sezza.com and Jayde.com - Both these are pretty good to get included in ( Sezza charges a small fee though).

Default Beginners Advice

Just remember when submitting to vary your anchor text, use company name where you have to but variations on main keyphrases where possible.

Also consider carefully and write the description (25 words) which includes your keyphrase (or variation of ) and a selection of relevant keywords prior to submitting to all these directories. Maybe write 3 descriptions so as to vary the content.

Are Directories the way to go? Or relevant sites are better?

These are some useful directoies... but it's important to make sure that the content of the page hosting the backward link and the content of your site are somewhat related.
