Default Alexa not listing right

I have a weird problem. A few years ago, I used a company that ran and host my site. I bought my domain name myself at that time so they said I would need to forward it to there domain. http://www.gnarlyparts.com went to http://etxpas.simplyonline.com/homepage.cfm . They wouldn't give me there DSN numbers so I couldn't use my domain. I ended up just doing a forward.

I promoted that site with my URL "www.gnarlyparts.com". It was going slowly at the time and to make a long story short I dropped them after a few months and designed my own site with my own server. Now if you go to www.gnarlyparts.com it goes to my site.

I check with Alexa recently and if you enter www.gnarlyparts.com it still points to the old host. The thing that scares me is I lost a bunch of listings on Google recently and I know Alexa is powered by Google. If you enter the search terms "Gnarly Parts" I come up but it shows my old site.

You think I got penalized for the forward? I use to rank well with Google for important keywords but am no longer in the top 100. My PR use to be 4 now it’s 1. I rank well with Yahoo and MSN. I contacted the first hosting company to try to get them to remove my old site but they never reply.

Thanks

Dave

Default I have a similar Alexa problem

I have a client who's name and host used to be owned by their former webmaster. We spent much time and energy getting their domain registered in their name and getting them away from that host. I have emailed Alexa at least three times with the new contact info. I have put an info.txt file on their website for Alexa to refer to...and NO RESPONSE! Its really annoying. The contact info is totally wrong and I don't seem to be able to affect it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

the website in question is www.yucatantoday.com

Thanks!

I dont think it is really that big of a deal. I would keep bugging Alexa, but no one really looks or cares about the alexa description or rank of a site. The alexa results can still be manipulated very easily, and most normal people dont even know what alexa is.
