I sell Personal Finance Software on my site.
In my link building, should I be trying to get links with both phrases "personal finance" and "personal finance software"? For example, one week I use "personal finance software" in my suggested link title, the next week I use "personal finance". Or can "personal finance software" cover both since "personal finance" is contained in "personal finance software"? |

In your case if they are both large search terms, I would use "personal finance software". This will cover bost sets of words. The anchor text wont be as strong for "personal finance" because there is an extra word in the phrase, but it will take much less links than targeting both terms.
