Gaining exposure

Hi there,

We are trying desperately to increase our search engine results. I know that incoming relevant links are a key, but getting links that are NOT competitors and are relevant is very difficult.

I have us listed in loal and national business directories, and have tried some link exchange sites (I didn't like the calibre of other links), etc.

One thing I was thinking of doing, since we design on a Mac, is creating a link exchange page for Mac-built sites. I'm not talking about a huge link farm, but a small directory of sites organized by location, with a small picture of the site and a description. To be listed in the directory, you would need to put in a reciprocal text link. I know there is nothing revolutionary here, but there is no Mac-built site gallery that I could find.

Is this a good idea, or will I do more harm than good?

IMO there is no harm at all in doing so as what you are creating is a special Mac directory.

You can also gain more text links by using anchor text in your signature on this and other spiderable forums.
