Default Please help with DMOZ

I have no idea where to list this: Magento Showcase - Gallery of Magento web store designs ? Magento Showcase

It's a showcase (gallery) of web shops made in Magento eCommerce platform. I've spent lots of time searching for appropriate category with no luck

If anyone knows a good category to submit this site to, please help me

Thank you!

I'm not really sure myself, but you might want to email one of the editors and ask. I've done that before with other questions I've had.

Emailing the editor in a category that's related and active might produce a result or it might not. Communicating with submitters is generally discouraged inside DMOZ.

Two possible options are to
a) submit to the appropriate regional category (usually they are more active and may be easier to get listed in), and
b) submit to a category your own best judgment indicates is similar to your site. If there is a better category for your site the editor will transfer your submittal onward to it.

Have a little faith, selecting appropriate categories is an essential part of what DMOZ editors do

It take a long time to list up.
I guess the editors like something like information site.
But I did not think about Email to editor.
It also good for it.

You are not the only person who experienced that. A lot of people experienced that on their websites. It's hard to please an editor I guess.

Umm, what the heck good is your 'opinion' going to do him?

None. Even if you were a meta editor at the ODP, your opinion as to why he hasn't been added is not going to amount to spit. You obviously have no idea how dmoz even works.

@williampc

To explain it to you from my point of view William, I offered my opinion as a response to gaurav061081's request for assistance - that someone "suggest ... the reason" that his sites don't get listed.

As a DMOZ editor I do this with some frequency, particularly when English is not the requester's first language. I try to be helpful when I can be, even though my understanding of DMOZ remains imperfect. Usually the reasons for a website's lack of inclusion are fairly clear, and, those I've communicated with will better understand the reasoning of the Directory editors, even if they sometimes don't agree with it.

Clearly I can't and don't pretend to speak for all the editors of DMOZ. Even when editing my own small part of the project my judgment ( or opinion if you prefer ) is subject to being overruled by several levels of DMOZ editors looking over my shoulder. Nevertheless, politely worded requests for information from submitters to the ODP still usually get a response from me, and my responses are generally appreciated.

Commendable, and unusual. While I do not think the reputation of the ODP in general will ever recover, it is refreshing to see someone who may actually make an attempt to help people from there.

My biggest question is, how much to get sites added quickly
