Default Homepage PR1 Rest of Site PR4?

My site which was originally built in oct 2005 has been PR1 for the last few months today it is still PR1 but i noticed all the sub-pages are PR4. Im not complaining about the PR4, far from it actually but i would have thought the homepage would have followed suit.

Oops almost forgot the site is www.morayfirthjobs.com

I've seen several examples recently of websites where the internal pages outrank the index page for PR - perhaps something to do with the recent updates?

My toplevel page is PR4.

My blog's entry page, one level in, is PR6.

My directory's entry page, also one level in, is a PR5.

Probably a function of content-- more search returns are bringing up your inner pages than your index page.

sometimes it may happen that some of the inner pages may have got links from high PR sites.
and in that case they may rank better than the home page.

Yeah I found out that I have a pr6 page on 2 sites that are either pr4 or pr5

I was happy :) The funny thing is the page has not been there longer than 1 month and I have no idea why its pr6!
