WebProWorld Members,

Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a great weekend.

I was just going through the articles on WebProNews today.

One that stood out to me to share was about the next iPhone update to iOS 6. Looks like there will be some pretty significant changes.

Check out the article here.

Will you go for the new iphone when it comes out later this year?

Need Wordpress Advice

Well I just started a new job where the website is Wordpress based. I do have experience with Wordpress, but need a little advice here. I am by no means an expert or even advanced - I would say a novice Wordpress user.

The current site has over 60 plugins, many custom widgets, custom taxonomies, custom menus and over 5000 pages indexed in Google. In addition, there are custom scripts and alot of things happening. The person who build this is very Wordpress savvy and I am very impressed with the functionality, but now I am in a position to take over this site and am really not knowing how everything works together.

I am making grounds and slowly figuring things out, but feel like I am in over my head. And with over 5000 pages, a total redesign with all its current functionality might not be the right course of action.

Any ideas on how I should proceed in getting a handle... ??

Extracting and displaying EXIF data with PHP

A question was posted a little more than a week ago relating to EXIF data in JPG files, and more particularly how to derive decimal equivalents for GPS latitude and longitude. A lot of time and effort went into helping with the OP, so in light of this, I have chosen continue to refine the work into something practical and usable, and post and explain it in full, in this thread.

Allow me to outline what we will be working with... There are five parts to this project, which for now all live in the same directory as the image files. Further refinement will eventually separate out the site wide components to prevent repetition and overlap, and allow for re-use, but for these purposes, it is just as easy to keep things as they are. The five parts are, 1) index.php

This is the thumbnail page that opens with a simple URL, "/folder/". 2) thumbnail.php

This is a small file that comes to us from the previous mentioned thread. Source unknown, so we cannot as yet attribute it to anybody. 3) gps_exif.php

This is the single frame view page, which is only linked to from links generated in index.php.

SEO for a Damage Restoration services site

I have a website for my Damage Restoration/Construction business, and I am really in the dark with regards to SEO and SEM. I am really wondering if methods used for SEO is similar for all industries/fields? Like if I own a restaurant and a construction business that offers emergency restoration services, does it matter which methods I use?

Help will greatly be appreciated.

Fred Silverman Discusses Newslook For iPad

With the Apple iPad becoming more and more popular within the consumer and business world, the organization and syndication of content are becoming key factors in distributing news through the popular tablet device. What's more, since the content on the iPad being such a visual medium, video news is becoming more common. However, even with the advances in video technology, the aggregation and organization of video news has been left untouched until now.
