WebProWorld Members,

Today's video from WebProNews is an interview with Brit Morin. She has worked her way up from being employed at Google And Apple to now running her own successful business.

While there are many blogs out there about crafting and other domestic divas, Brit goes beyond that to combine technology with her domestic adventures.

Searching her website, I found her jobs page. It stood out to me because it was down to earth and not formal at all really. I like when companies aren't so uptight.

I admire people that do what they love and become successful at it.

Do you have any companies or blogs you follow that are similar?

Social Media Sites And Search Engines

After being hit by Panda I have been looking at social media as a way to promote my sites. I Twitter ( or should I say I Twit? ), I Pin, I Stumble etc. I start to get a good few visitors now, especially from Stumbleupon. One of my sites got over 3000 visitors in the last 30 days, just from Stumbleupon. If these visitors would have come from search engines, I would have made at least 20 sales, now I made none. The same with Pinterest.

I start to get visitors, but no sales. I would like to know of this activity with these social media sites, would, after a while, raise my sites in the search results.

Is there link juice coming from these social media sites? In my Google web master account I only see a few links from Twitter.

Comparison Shopping Engine Management Software? Is there such a thing?

Our website uses Ajax.Autocompleter function for a quick search (http://madrobby.github.com/scriptacu...autocompleter/). I'd like to be able to capture and log the final search term into a database. After 3 characters, with each character a user types into the search box, AJAX calls an external/server-side search script to do the search.

To log each time the search script is called (which is every time a character is typed after the 3rd one) would increase the size of the table pretty fast. I can log the time and look at the time difference that the last time that particular IP called the search script, and UPDATE that row instead of INSERT a new row. However, if that same IP makes a different search query, I'd like to capture and log both queries.

I don't want to slow down the search any more than necessary with more mysql calls. My db is fairly large as it is (over I could capture each one then cleaning up the table daily, but am stuck for the mysql query.

I can't get wordpress site to index in webmaster tools

I have a site that has a wordpress blog on it. I put the site into webmaster tools. Verified the site and then submitted a sitemap.xml....

The blog (site.com/wordpress/) will not index in the webmaster tools.... I tried changing the url in the sitemap to site.com/wordpress/index.php... but still no luck.

Then I tried adding the blog (site.com/wordpress/) as it's own site on webmaster tools, verifying it and adding it's own sitemap.xml within the wordpress folder on the site.... but yet again, I cannot get the url to index... What am I doing wrong? Should it be "site.com/wordpress/" or "site.com/wordpress/index.php" that is indexed and how do I do it?
