WebProWorld Members,
It's Friday and things are crazy here in Kentucky.
We have the strangest weather! It can be snowing, then 60 degrees and storms in the same week.
We already had 11 tornadoes on wednesday. Today they are predicting more bad storms and tornadoes. Check out the map here! Looks bad!
Schools are even being let out early because of the potential bad weather which I don't remember ever happening unless it was for winter weather.
Usually we don't get these storms until spring time.
Well I hope everyone out there stays safe and has a great weekend!

Ad Space Buy and Sell
Selling Adspace... Pricing And Where To Start?
I have a website that just recieved an email from a company claiming to have an interested party in advertising on the site. Apparently they are interested in purchasing a certain amount of space on the site for a product write up that would remain on the site for a year and possibly have the option of renewal.
At the moment the only advertising I've allowed on the site is adsense, but of course if the price is right I would consider it.
I am very wary of the outlook sponsored advertising has on the site and I'm keen to keep the website as independant as possible within means.
Really I just dont know where to start with negotiations, how much can a site charge per unique visitor? and what strengths should I look to highlight on the negotiation table?

Syndication and Social Media Discussion Forum
Article syndication
My friends and I write articles, like editorials and we naturally want people to read them. Money is not the object, we really just want our voices to be heard. Website itself has limited traffic, but we do use an RSS feed that doesn't truncate or require you to link back to us.
Just curious how many out there get widely read? Any suggestions?

WordPress Discussion Forum
Community Software
So I want to start a private paid community for my industry & I want to make it very very user friendly so people can see what is written, it's easy to respond, you can read the entire thread (like here), etc. But also their profiles can also be kept private. So, everything is accessible, yet they have a lot of controls so they are kept private if they don't want anyone contacting them or they don't want to participate.
Yes I could go with VB. I love VB, but it's out of my budget right now & I already have 2 VB forums that no one mans & they are a MESS with spam & not a lot of people know how to man VB, plus it takes a lot of work to set it up so it looks great & easy to use. Even the design takes a lot to tweak it just so.
And no I don't want the PHP free version, it doesn't have all the features VB has & it looks very unprofessional IMO.
So I know WP has some membership type plugins, but those are usually for people to read articles, watch videos & stuff, not to also communicate with other members (unless I'm wrong) right?
Is there anything out there like what I described?
