WebProWorld Members,
More news on SOPA today...
Yesterday I talked about the blackouts that were going to happen today. A lot of sites followed through with it, and some other sites have joined to fight against it.
One of my favorite sites, Pinterest, even had it's own message up today (you can see it here).
If the laws ever do get put into place, the internet will be different in so many ways and a lot of blogs and businesses would be effected.
Hopefully, that doesn't happen.

Clients' Sites Do Well in Google But My Own Site Is Poor
I'm a Web Designer and SEO and my clients sites usually do fairly well in the search engines. Although they report a definite rise in customers through their websites, this is not the case regarding my own homepage.
My site is currently at the top of page 3 in Google for my keywords and has been around that position for about a year. However I get very little client interest generated from my website, getting most of my work through word of mouth. At one point I was on page one of Google and still didnt gain any new clients.
If I put more effort into the SEO on my own site then I'm pretty sure I'd improve position in the Search Engines but it takes up a lot of time and effort to build more links etc and I just don't know whether it will pay off.
Anyhow, I'm in the middle of migrating to a new domain at the moment so there's little point.
The site in question is : http://www.ballancecreative.co.uk
the new site is : http://www.ralphb-creativewebdesign.co.uk

Hangs On Mup.sys, Looping Startup, Missing User32.dll After Recovery Attempt - Help
Well I have looked around for help with this issue and frankly I trust no one in any other community right now so WebProWorld it is!
To make a long story short and to summarize elaborate on the title of this post, I awoke this morning to a frozen computer (Compaq Presario, NTFS, Dual Channel 64bit) (it's getting a little old (on 6.5 years)) as usual as of late I gave it a hard reboot (pressed power off) and thereafter have gone through the infinite loop restarting in regular mode, safe mode, safe mode with DOS, recovery mode and so forth.
In safe mode and with DOS prompt, it hangs on Mup.sys. In regular mode it seems to load up to the login prompt screen but I can't see a thing and therefore do nothing. In recovery mode (pressing F10) it gives me an error saying User32.dll is missing.
I removed the drive, purchased some hardware that allows me to turn the drive into an external drive so now I can see all my files and so forth.
I can't start in safe mode and start system restore because it hangs on Mup.sys.

Online Privacy Law Coming, But Not This Year, Says Jules Polonetsky
Since online privacy is a very controversial issue, it's not surprising that the debate is heating up again with the FTC report and Commerce Department report expected to be released in the next couple of weeks. WebProNews spoke with Jules Polonetsky, the Director of the Future of Privacy Forum, who told us that the Commerce Department's report would be interesting since it will dictate the direction the White House takes on the matter.
