By now I am sure you have heard of SOPA. And I am sure most of you internet users are against it.
Many of the bigger internet sites are planning blackouts as a way of protesting the bill.
Reddit, Cheezburger Network, and Wikipedia are all taking part.
It seems SOPA is taking a hiatus for now. But of course this doesn't mean it is gone completely.
For now we can just keep hoping it never gets passed.

 What Is Google Telling Me About Redirects?
When Google reports crawl errors on my site (404 - Not found), in most cases I'll add a redirect in my htaccess. I'll either (1) redirect visitors to the page they were supposed to arrive at (but didn't because the link url was improperly formattted), or if the targeted page no longer exisits on my site, (2) send them to a related page.
However, now I'm reading a help article at Webmaster tools that suggests this could be a problem:
"Redirecting users to another page, such as the homepage, instead of returning a 404 can be problematic. Firstly, it tells search engines that there's a real page at that URL As a result, that URL may be crawled and its content indexed. Because of the time Googlebot spends on non-existent pages, your unique URLs may not be discovered as quickly or visited as frequently and your site's crawl coverage may be impacted."
Am I misunderstanding something here? I thought my method for redirecting crawl errors seemed like a good idea.

Recursive php function
Trying to build a recursive function to do the following and going round in circles.. any help???
Database table -> categories

parent
active
It can be infinite levels deep and I need to build an array of all the child (i.e. bottom level) categories.

Yahoo Explains Sundance Partnership & Rebranding Effort
