WebProWorld Members,

Happy Monday! Time to get back at it... exercising that is. I might be taking a trip to the beach in May, so I have about 10 weeks to get in shape! Think I can do it? I told someone earlier that I needed words of encouragement and creative food ideas. Got any? I'm planning to hit the treadmill after work. Wish me luck!

Our featured post today comes from mbobic. He is new to the whole ecommerce world, and wants to start his own online store. So, he is looking for a complete ecommerce package. Is there a complete ecommerce package with pretty easy, beginner type instructions that you would recommend? He is wondering about using yahoo, but also saw dbcanvas.com. What else is out there? Click here!

As for the remaining posts, the first wants to know if it is possible to compete with Amazon in terms of keywords. The second can't get the scroll wheel working in IE. The third asks about writing new programming languages.

Complete eCommerce Packages?

Complete eCommerce Packages?
I am new to the whole E-Commerce world, and I want to start my own online store where I can sell pet supplies. Now, I want a complete e-Commerce package (or at least one that offers the most features). Why? Because I tried HostGator and I had trouble setting up all individual thingys (webpages, shopping carts, etc). In other words, I don't even know what and how things work with setting up your store.

I can easily be persuaded into a dead-end, because last month I took another web-hosting solution (Servage), thinking that I was getting a e-commerce package, only to find out that everything needs to be set-up individually, and by making a mess of installations, I gave up.

Now, I am pretty sure there has to be some solution with a complete package, easier instructions (and yes, I am not looking for flexibility, just a way to get started fairly simply).

Site for Review http://mycoloredlinks.com/

Please review mycoloredlinks.com. Should I change the black background or not ? Some people say I should but this is the only color wich makes the colors of the links more pronounced. What do you think ?

Possible To Compete With Amazon On Low-Traffic Keywords?

I'm thinking about adding some pages to my site that are optimized for small niche - very low competition keyword phrases. I've done this before, and I usually don't have much trouble getting on page one of Google. However, the phrases that I want to use this time around are bringing up large shopping sites (like Amazon) in positions 1-3.

My question is this - even if I can manage to show up somewhere farther down the page (positions 4-10), is the brand recognition of Amazon so strong that most people will not click anywhere else?

Scrollwheel Not Working In Overflow Div in IE

I have a div on my website set to overflow surround with other fixed position divs.

So once the mouse is inside the div, the content can not be scroll using the scrollwheel. Scroll bar is working! This is happening only on IE7.

On FF and Chrome everything work perfect.

How Is A New Web Programming Language Written ?

I'm wondering how programmers develop new web programming languages because I want to learn how everything begins from the start.

Let's say I'm planning to write a new language for the Web. How do I do this?

Is there anyone who knows about the way web programming languages first appear?

I'm asking these questions because I'm particularly interested in the World Wide Web.
