So, yet again, we have had another plane crash here in the U.S. Very sad stuff. I don't think they even know what could have been the cause as of now. I love flying, but all these crashes make you think twice. We had one right here in my city just a couple years ago. The families are definitely in my thoughts.
Well on we go with the update, hope you all have a good weekend.
Our featured post today comes from Andrew Scherer. Andrew discusses how much people use Google. He asks who could possibly challenge Google? And, would you even want to see a serious Google competitor break through? Or are you completely satisfied with Google and what they do? Click here to share your opinion!
As for the remaining posts, the first discusses the Canonical Tag. The second needs press release help. The third ask about SEO friendly content.

The Google Monopoly - Are They Too Dominant?
9/10 searches in the UK were powered by Google. Yahoo and MSN were 4 and 3 percent respectively.
Google has definitely changed the face of the internet - some believe for the good of the net, others would argue with that.
People critical of Google point to their domination of natural search as well as PPC advertising. At this point in time, who could possibly com from from under the rug to challenge Google at what they're doing?
What are your thoughts?
Would you want to see a serious Google competitor break through or are you completely satisfied with Google and what they do?

Hi all... it'd be great if you could review / critique this site for me from an On=Page SEO point of view. The site is: www.yellow.co.nz
I'd like your thoughts on what you think is flawed from an SEO perspective when it comes to the On-Page SEO aspects of this site.

Search Engine Optimization Forum New Canonical Tag From The Big 3
The big three have got their heads together and come up with a new head tag to avoid duplicate content issues. The tag is supposed to act as a "hint" (google's own words) as to what the original url is and the SEs reallign their index accordingly. Google are supposed to redirect any PR to the correct url as well.
There's more from google here: Official Google Webmaster Central Blog: Specify your canonical
They seem a bit vague on some of the issues surrounding it's effectiveness and, as with other SE colabs (thinking nofollow), we might get variations in handling.

Search Engine Optimization Forum Same Press Release for a Website!
I tried submitting the press release for my site. And I did submitted the same press release in 20 Press Release sites.
After a week I found at least 40% of the press release sites have published my news.
And after 15days I was checking the backlink towards my site and to my utter surprise there was only one backlink from the press release, which I had submitted at the very beginning.
My question is, "DOES GOOGLE COUNT SAME PRESS RELEASE, SUBMITTED IN DIFFERENT PRESS RELEASE SITES AS SAME OR NOT?"
And if not then why I did not get those 40% links from Press Releases.

Search Engine Optimization Forum SEO Friendly Dynamic Content? Hey guys...got quite a riddle here for everybody. The sad part is its not so much of a riddle and more of a "is that even possible" question.
The title of this thread can be a bit misleading because dynamic content can indeed be SEO friendly...no issues there. The issue crops up in the fact that the URL will be unchanging.
Here is the setup:
Say I have a music store. Lets say I'm well ranked for the keyword "Flutes". The page that ranks is exampleDOTcom/instruments/flutes/. Now I want to build onto the website and rank for "Piccolo". Normally you would simply build out exampleDOTcom/instruments/piccolo/ right? But if I go this route, I'm worried about losing my position for flutes as these two instruments are closely related and I might be pulling away athortity for the /flutes/ page.
