Bing ahead from yahoo in traffic as per news, is that correct, if so its big success for bing

If your news is correct then indeed its Good news for Bing but bigger competition is from Google, beating Google is the real challenge for Bing.

Yes, BING's only competitor is Google not Yahoo.

I guess it depends on where you are in the world. In some locations (such as the UK) Bing is really offering no competition to Google right now.

My bing traffic is coming in at about 3/5 of yahoo traffic. I used to see about half +/-

I do well in bing, so naturally I hope it gets a bigger market share

Where did you get that news? if that is true then that's really a very good news for a newly build Bing. I guess you should place the link here so we can see. Well, in fact I got more traffic from Bing than Yahoo.

Bing deserve this - I think they have designed a great user experience.

Personally I am not too concern about Bing ahead of Yahoo or vice versa. Instead I am more interested in knowing how much more traffic I am getting from both search engines. Interestingly, I do get good ranking from both search engines with the same keywords search terms. I am glad to see this and it is always healthy to have competition for search engines to benefit us.

Well, some spy tools still suggests that Yahoo and Google are receiving almost the same traffic and Bing is not even close to the traffic the other 2 search engines receive.

That's agreed but Bing is of course the default search engine on Windows7 and it consistantly nips Google at the ankles as these stats illustrate -

And here's a thought what's a #1 Page1 result on Bing for your product worth against a Page 2+ result in Google?

I am seeing a constant increase in image searches on various site stats - does anyone have an angle on that?

You can not compare your traffic in regard to the success of Bing vs yahoo in the toal search market. I've noticed some of my sites are not ranking on Bing but that does not mean that people are not using Bing to search.

Right now for me it is about even with regards to traffic from Bing and yahoo. But it seems it would be an accurate statement to say that Bing will be ahead of Yahoo shortly considering Microsoft is heavily advertising Bing on Tv. Every day I see a commercial for Bing and eventually it's going to bring in more users.

Yes it is true that bing ahead from yahoo but only by less than half a percent (5.17% vs. 5.56%). It is too early to just write off Bing.

Bing's launch got a ton of press. Let's see how long it's success lasts after the novelty wears off. I wish MS well. But, seeing as how it's never been all that successful online, I'm skeptical.
