Flagged By bing

Hi guys

It appears my site Free online chat rooms with webcams is being flagged by bing, anyone any ideas how to trouble shoot this, as ive never had anything like this happen to any of my sites before ? Anyone any ideas what it actually means ?

I wish I knew, i posted on the bing webmaster forums, and was told by a bing moderator, my site is being filtered and to read their terms and conditions, crawling and linking advice on their webmaster blog, ive posted asking what it means and how i resolve this and havent received an answer.

Any ideas how I find out ?

Ah.. well, flagged is usually a reference to spam or suspicious content. Filtered, my guess would be that your site may be hitting an adult content filter. If that is the case, you may need to decide what your focus is on - your chat technology, or your adult-oriented chatrooms themselves.

Yeah thats what I thought, adult content straight away, Ive had a load of idiots registering viagra crap on my forums but theres nothing like that on my homepage, thats the only thing i can think of, as my site doesnt have any adult content, its not x rated its clean so im really at a loss !

etc.

Everything about it sounds adult, and I am not surprised it would get filtered.

Hmm this was to try to keep kids out of my chat rooms for their own protection, my site is totally clean no nudity or anything like that, but i suppose search engines woudnt know that, seems my loyalties were in the wrong place, ive changed it now if people wanna check it out !

If your site is purely meant for adult audience, then I don't think search engines will flag it. If that is the reason there would be no adult sites on the search engine results.

I agree it shouldnt be flagged, as google hasnt flagged my site ever, but i cant think of any other reason it would get flagged, so ive altered it anyhow suppose i will find out if my site returns !

Well, I see that you still have "cyber sex" as a keyword, on your ethos page, so don't be too surprised if you still don't clear the filter.

The other thing to remember is explicit.bing.net is where they intend to put all "adult" content. I don't believe it's live yet but they may be paving the road.

The whole bing thing is baffling, the weird thing is if you go on their webmaster tools and post, they will actually tell you if your site is flagged, but wont tell you why.

Which is very frustrating as ive had a website on msn search for years and always got a decent amount of traffic from them, feels a bit of a let down to be just removed in such a way without any kind of notice or even any help.

Not a very nice experiance and really does put me off using bing in future.

Have you tried posting another inquiry on the bing webmaster forum? It looks clean now, but it may require some human intervention on Bing's part to clear it from the filtered queue.

Yes i did, but maybe its worth another try.

I posted my site was clean and my post was promptly ignored lol !

Keep plugging away at them. You'll either wear them down, or they'll clear you, just to shut you up!

Looks like you did have some adult related text there, so now that you've removed everything you found your site should hopefully get taken out of the filter next time Bing crawls the site and finds everything to be clean.

Not sure why i was flagged there are higher chat rooms with adult content on them than mine and tehy didnt get flagged, I have spoke to the people at bing, which is something at least u can contact them.

They have told me not to expect my serps positions to return for a long time, not sure why, i still feel this is all a bit unfair but you live and learn.

Looks like Ill just have to wait quite a few months to return !

Ugh, doesn't seem like very good customer service. So they don't tell you why you were flagged, how long you're serp positions are gone for? I would imagine that it'd limit the quality of their search engine.

lol yeha not a good service at all, my sites still no where on bing when i type my site name it doesnt even appear at the number 1 spot !
