Re: Do you still consider MSN?
It seems that my " SEO style" is MSN style as I already have some good positions in SERPs, so yeah, I'm considering MSN. However, the quality of traffic is not that good. Maybe the keywords aren't that relevant, but still ... being #2 for 'hosting articles' I assumed that I get at least 1 visitors from MSN.
Well, I'm here ... waiting.

My experience has been that you can typically get ranked more quickly with msn.

Re: Do you still consider MSN?
MSN for sure gives less traffic but I have found the traffic you do get tends to have a higher conversion rate. I think you should still consider MSN but I wouldn't focus too much time on MSN rankings because of the lower amount of traffic.

Re: Do you still consider MSN?
I'd raather be you than me then! But MSN still gets a fair share of traffic, it shouldn't be your primary focus, but it should still be considered.

If it doesn't hurt Google side, yes of course.
Visitor is a visitor, regardless of where he voluntarily comes from.

Re: Do you still consider MSN?
I do not consider MSN.. I rank #4 in MSN for the most dominated keyword "HERBAL" .. but still hardly any traffic or no traffic at all. Where as in Google I rank for many keywords that does not have much of importance.. but I still get traffic for those keywords..
Infact after Live.com it is gone worst then ever. there is no competition between MSN and Google if it comes to search results and indexing for that matter.

Re: Do you still consider MSN?
In the UK, where the general internet psyche is still one small step behind the US, many users still have MSN set as their default homepage in Internet Explorer. However, Yahoo's still a favourite for many established internet users - us Brits are afraid of change!

Re: Do you still consider MSN?
I don't consider MSN in my optimization. I feel I get ranked highly on MSN primarily on my home page. I don't However go out of my way because so few people search for my keywords on MSN.

Re: Do you still consider MSN?
MSN must be considered because it still produces significant traffic. To the exclusion of google/yahoo? absolutely not.

Re: Do you still consider MSN?
I rely a little less on search engines these days and just keep writing and using tags accordingly. If I happen to rank well for certain words, great. If not, that's OK too.

Re: Do you still consider MSN?
I don't know why one would have to "consider MSN" when optimizing. MSN seems to be the easiest of graders; happy with whatever basic seo trick you pull. Do what you can. It will work out.
I didn't consider MSN at all when doing a site launched last month, but almost all of the 2000+ products and manufacturers on it come up between #1-4. Too bad not more people use it, but we are starting to see some noticeable traffic from it.

Re: Do you still consider MSN?
Yes, I still consider MSN, traffic from MSN have a better ROI compared to Yahoo and Google traffic.. check this article.
Efficient Frontier Insights: Search Syndication and Traffic Quality
Our Search Engine Performance Report: Q1 2008 reported that MSN had the highest ROI among the three major search engines. Advertisers know that MSN has the highest quality traffic, but many people do not understand the concept of traffic quality when it comes to search.
