Default Kudos to MSN Search/Live Search for New Operators LinkFromDo

Live Search now has a new operator for checking your OBL's, LinkFromDomain, see where Jaan Kanellis.com links out to.

They have had the LinkDomain: operator out for sometime now and works pretty good, considering how in-accurate Google's operators are.

Here is a good blog post on it from Live Search blog

Search Macros: LinkfromDomain

Default LinkFrom...

Interesting. MS have been busy - what did their ads say - new developments/ redefine search etc. - good to have some new metrics.

Interesting to see wikipedia OBL - more than you would think.
http://search.live.com/results.aspx?...&go.x=9&go.y=9

And msn
http://search.live.com/results.aspx?...go.x=7&go.y=11

Some interesting links in there - particular No1. LOL! And No.2 - MSN employees are obviously keen on Hummers!!

So how do we use/ evaluate it? We've got more OBL than IBL by a factor of around 8. Is that good or bad? Are OBL links related to Trustrank? Hope to see some more info. on this.

Regards

Something appears to be wrong with this. What's the difference between LinkDomain: and Link: ? I show the same results! Also, for LinkFromDomain: using the www prefix doesn't appear to work! I show ZERO with the www, and a few hundred withOUT it.

It seems pretty accurate to me. Is it significant enough for Google to follow ?
