Default MSN keywords position is falling!

Hi All,

are you experiencing a sharp drop in MSN for your keywords?

in comparison with 2 weeks ago, the majority of the keywords we used to rank 1st and 2nd for are now showing on 70th and 60th position.

any ideas?

thanks,
T

all we did was add more relevant pages and more internal links... has anyone heard of any MSN updates?

We dropped from #1 for some of our keywords for the first time. A duplicate site from one of our competitors of their main site is ranking #1, apparently just because of the domain name. This is the first time I've felt they've taken a step backwards.

One of my sites fell off the map as well. Only thing which has changed is we added a lot of new pages, basically our directory pages broken up from 50 links per page to 15. That added a good 40-50 pages to our directory. We used to consistent #1 to no where.

This has to be an update. PPC and cookie cutter sites all over the first page.

I feel fortunate then. Same rankings, and a slight rise in a couple of KP's. Not seeing any drastic changes for what I watch.

The msn results have gotten funky for the keywords we watch.

Lots of UK results, keywords in the domain, and lots of internal pages rather than homepages.
Our homepage was #3 for our main keyword and it has fallen off the map. We now rank #55 for our "contact page".

For less competitive keywords we are still ranking 1st and 2nd page results.

The ranking for one of my main keywords have fallen from 13# to 89# at msn.com but at msn.co.uk my site rank 5# now.

In my oppinion this algo update also changed the country targeting.

yeah we fell from 1 to 5 then it started showing my faq page as 5 instead of index

I thought maybe I just needed fresh content so reworded contents a few days ago.

today back at #1 with index page cached from yesterday

Yes MSN is going through an update right now and it looks pretty bad (spammy) for some keywords.

Has anyone seen the results go back to where they
were before the "brain fart"?

Seems that either MSN has cancelled the update or
there is a flux between the new results and the old ones.

Subdomain madness.
