Different results from msn.com, .co.uk, .es, etc.

Hi Guys,

I have installed the MSN toolbar and have been checking the results for my website since the new MSN engine went live. From the first day search.msn.com has been brilliant on my prefered keywords. However search.msn.co.uk, search.msn.es, search.msn.fr etc, were terrible on the world results, and non existent on the country specific results. Over the last few months most of the msn country SE results have changed to be more or less the same as the global results, with the exception of search.msn.co.uk.

These are the results from search.msn.com where my site is placed third.

These are the results from search.msn.co.uk where my site is nowhere.

My main market place for business is the UK and so search.msn.co.uk is the most important engine for me. I can't get a handle on why the results differ so much, is anybody out there having similar problems with msn?

Buy yourself a .co.uk domain if you want to place well in the search.msn.co.uk.
This has worked WONDERS for me.

Thanks for your reply Tim. I have now asked another question based on your answer on the Search Engine Discussion forum. I didn't place it here as my question invlves all SE's.

I'd echo Tim's thoughts. Get a cheap .co.uk redirect.

I'm also a UK dot.com - www.simplyclicks.comand its hosted in Germany. I was finding a similar problem. I acquired www.simplyclicks.co.uk from Netthe.net for about £9. It just redirects.

By the way I see you're involved in horse riding in Andalucia. I have a new private site www.andalucian-villa.com where I could offer a link exchange.

Thank you for your interest in my problem. The thread that I started is

My main problem is with msn, results on google and yahoo are ok. However through the msn toolbar the results from msn global are very different from msn uk.

My domain is http://www.fantasiaadventureholidays.com and I also have http://fantasiaadventureholidays.co.uk This address is redirected to my .com site.

Using the keyword horse riding holiday when the msn toolbar is set to English (united states) or English (global) my site is second, the site also appears very high on other country specific msn's, e.g. Spanish (spain), German (germany), etc. However when I set the toolbar to show results from English (united kingdom) my site is nowhere. Even when I search on my company name Fantasia Adventure Holidays, the site is nowhere. However adding quotes to this search term brings my company name to number one.

I really don't know what's going on here, as almost every msn search site likes my website, with the exception of msn.co.uk. This wouldn't be a problem if my main market wasn't the UK.

Any help would be more than appreciated.
