Mine are high also but have you paged through the 700.
On one site I get, 1-49 of 393 with at least 5 pages showing at the bottom. A click on page 2, the extra pages disappear and end up with 55 results. I am not sure if that is their version of Google's " search with the omitted results included"

I was reviewing a new client's web site and all of a sudden their MSN links are at 1750+. It's an ecommerce site and every single product in their cart was indexed.
Very surprising, especially since one week ago they were at ZERO (0).

MSN are very very quick in updating their index.
My site shows fluctuations in backlinks everyday. But this is not some kind of Google goof-up - they really are picking up new links.
For example, my site was featured in Yahoo!Japan News last week and literally the next day MSN had the backlink indexed.
MSN= tops for checking links!

Bug in Links
Follow your links out several pages and the number will drop to the real number. Mine starts out at 600+ and then drops to around 100+ 9-10 pages back. Not sure why it does that. Quite annoying

It is wierd how it does that.
My feeling is that what it shows you at the beginning is the real number and the number it puts up later on is the number that it is prepared to show you.
Just like G shows you only a small selection of the backlinks it really has in its index. At least MSN will show you the real number it has indexed, even if it won't show you the actual links themselves.

Hi ctabuk,
Has it stayed up by 700? I find that my backlinks on MSN rise and drop by 200. Anyone else find their backlinks drop by 200 after they have increased by 200 days before?
Have a great day!

Mine BLs fluctuate a little every day
I would say mine swing around 100 Bls every so often. But they have gotten a lot more consistant as of lately. I think the SE has stabilized.

They have stayed up, in fact I am experiencing a pretty unique experience, over all my backlinks are going up by 120 per day. MSN about 20 of those.

MIne have been moving up everyday also. Depending on what number I believe. MSN p1 has me closing in on 900 which seems way too high. The other number is closing in on 200.
Im not complaining.

i think it's just glitchy ... it shows one big number the first time and when you click 'next' it shows a much smaller number.
or, it could be that the first number (big number) are links that are site wide (or on multiple pages) ... who knows.

MSN turnover time
okay I joined this forum less than 24 hours ago, placed my link in my profile, and msn has already indexed it and is counting it in my link backs! come on you can't tell me google can beat that, it takes weeks sometimes for them to up date BLs.

Re: Check your MSN Backlinks
Maybe this has something to do with them adding "webmaster tools" and sitemaps?
