Default MSN Pay-Per-Click?

Has anyone else heard the rumor about MSN starting a pay per click advertising service? I've heard they were looking for experienced PPC people. I read this somewhere but wanted some confirmation.

I haven't heard anything, but I wouldn't doubt it. I think that Google and MSN will be in an all out war for the next couple years.

Unless Billy crushes them sooner.

Default PPC

There is no doubt that MSN will need to create some sort of revenue generator. I am sure that their model will be PPC based, and maybe a mix between adwords, adsense, and overture. I did personally talk to MSN at the CES show, and they are willing to talk about their plans for advertising as soon as they are ready. IF you want to be in the loop, all you need to do is sent them a simple email asking for one of their advertising departments reps to contact you when they are ready. They have it in the works, but I think they want people to get used to their new search engine first!

One thing to watch out for if you are already advertising on overture, is a huge drop in your CTR. Now that Yahoo and overture have lost a huge percentage of their exposure from MSN.com their reach will drop dramatically. Look for google and overture bid prices to skyrocket!
