MSN & SiteMatch

Parden me if this has been covered already - I didn't see it anywhere. Now that MSN has announced that it will no longer show SiteMatch results, does anyone know where their data is coming from?

I know they are using Inktomi, but that database must be dwindling - I know I'm getting regular emails telling me that my Inktomi subscription is expiring. If the subscription expires, is the site still in the database?

Does anyone have a clue?

They are about to launch there own index - there crawler has been doing the rounds for a while now.
