I've been getting some very strange search results from MSN recently, does anyone know what is going on over there?
For some keywords one of my sites: http://www.nightmagic.co.uk is very highly placed on google (e.g. blink 182 concerts, blink 182 concert tickets) but the site is currently nowhere to be seen on MSN. But last week I had several referrals from MSN on Thursday - nothing before and nothing after, as though my site was suddenly indexed and then removed. Can anyone explain this? |

MSN SE is still in a testing phase, that's the reason probably...

yeah....msn search is still in development
and also, msn search is different from other search engine. They use human-powered results from LookSmart directory and then use its own search algorithm to go throught the listings to find best links. Hope it helps you for your question, Graf1771 ;) |

Erm... actually MSN stopped using Looksmart Directory results several months ago, and their database still comes from Inkotmi as it has for years. They do use their own search algo though, and are hard at work on a totally new search engine which has its own crawler and algorithm.
The new MSN search engine is supposed to go live in July. |
