I have a website that I sell ad space on. I don't sell a lot of ad space($5k-$10k? a year), but don't solicit advertisers at all. They generally find me through my organic search listings where I am dominating keywords they are looking for.
I have some run of site ads - a banner and a text link. I also do some content embedded crawl-able text links on individual pages. I am also open to addressing their specific advertising ideas/needs. I've been thinking of outsourcing ad sales. I am not a "wheeler-dealer" and have had some problems dealing with the people interested in purchasing this ad space. I don't know much about outsourcing this type of thing and was hoping to get some input from my fellow WebProWorld business professionals. Any company recommendations, experiences of your own, tips or other info would be greatly appreciated. |

SEOConsult, I guess what I'm thinking when I say 'outsource', is to hire an agency or individual to sell my available ad space. I would assume there are companies that would be willing to solicit and manage advertisers interested in what I am offering.
Like I said in the initial post, I don't know much about this type of thing and was hoping to get some general input from people in the ad sales business or others who have outsourced their ad space. Thanks for your reply, Caleb |

Why don't you try Adsense or any PPC program instead of hiring / outsourcing your web project

Whatever it is, it makes sense to get a higher share in the revenue. PPC ads generally pay only about 50% or less, irrespective of your traffic. At ad networks, you can negotiate higher percentage if you have huge and quality traffic. Ofcourse, you can always try to get higher earnings per click with PPC ads also if your site's quality is good. But its automated. At ad networks, you can personally negotiate and get personalized service. You can learn more about our ad network at : Ohana Media - Emerging Markets Ads Network

Thanks for the input.
I currently monetize unsold ad space with affiliate offers. They payout more than PPC does. However, when I sell ad space I do a 2/3 pricing. If I can make $100 a month from an ad spot with affiliate marketing, then I'll sell the ad space for another 1/3($50) the money I was making. So the ad spot would sell for $150. This has worked in the past. I make more money when I sell an ad space than I do populating it with an affiliate offer or PPC. This is why I'm looking to find a company that will solicit advertisers and manage the space. |
