If a person visits your website and leaves, the chances are he or she will not come back especially if there are no good enough reasons to. After all, we all behave rather impulsively on the Internet, so much so that we might forget where we were 10 web pages ago. Your visitor may not come back to your website again. If a 1,000 visitors visit your website, leave and never come back again, you can imagine the amount of potential money lost, simply because they do not come back, WOW. After hearing this in a video internet tutorial I bought online, I was out of my mind. I had a online afffiliate program that I was involved in, I had lots of vistors to the site, but no one would subscribe to my newsletter. The tutorial taught me a lot about internet marketing. I will holla at y'all later.

There are plenty of social bookmarking sites out there and also most of the browsers have bookmarking feature so if visitors really like your content they'll bookmark it and visit again, so nothing to worry!

I have to think you're being very unrealistic if you think that every visitor to your website is going to sign up for your newsletter. Some percentage may do so, but I'd guess that one person in ten is about the highest return you can expect.
As only one fact to support this opinion, I reckon you need to understand the variety of people who visit you in the first place and to then recognize that they'll have a host of different reasons for doing so. As in most cases, no two people are alike. To lump everyone into a single category and to assume that they'll all act in a consistent way just isn't sensible. Sorry. Duncan

Well, the only way to get subscribers to your website - is to make that website your squeeze page!
To get high conversions, your visitors must have just two options - to opt in to your list, or to leave. No other links, no other options. Clearly state what they get in return for subscribing. By doing this, on several websites, I have a conversion rate of over 68%, which is very high. And the only page I worry about (and drive traffic to) - is my squeeze page. And no one should argue that the biggest money to be made is on the list

Converting every visitor into a subscriber is everyone's goal.If you don't give them enough reason to sign-up, they wont bother to visit again and it would mean lost opportunity.

One factor involved in increasing sign ups to one's newsletter is to have people pre-sold on your niche product visit your site. That alone increases the chances of conversion. If your site caters to a niche (where you have affiliate marketing banner links) selling, for example, airplane models, you might want to compile a list of people blogging on anything from airplanes, to WW2, to aviation photography, etc. You can get the sites and email ads from many forums. I'm sure there are other factors, but I would start with that.

now that is the tricky part, after we got the desired traffic...
