I need to start making income from my web site. I have affiliate ads and Google ads but I need to sell advertising to local businesses. I have some small business advertisers but I want to go for the big boys like Presidente Beer, Johnny Walker, some of the larger banks in the area, ans so on. I have no idea what to charge or who to speak with in these businesses. What department would I ask for when I call?
My site visits go up and down alot. During tourism season last year I was getting about 2500 to 3000 visits daily and not its average 1300 a day. I've had my site for about 4 years now and started it with 1 page and added more as I wrote them. My site is about Dominican Republic focusing on Colonial Zone. Theres tons of information. I really have no money to invest in SEO stuff. I have to live on what I make from my site and now I'm in the poverty range making around $200 to $400 usd monthly. My site has grest info and it needs to be making me some money so I can survive. Any help would be greatly appriciated. My site is The Complete Guide to Colonial Zone, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Tourist Information, Restaurants, Night Life, Hotels, History, Monuments, Maps, Music, Businesses, Folklore, Calendar, Language and So Much More.

If your site is big enough, having a regular flow of quality traffic specially from search engines, is relevant to the advertisers, then you can go ahead. Its quite difficult for roping in the big players but once done, your financial needs are taken care of as long as they stay.

Ask to speak to their marketing director/manager or even better, their online marketing person. make sure you have statistics and facts in-hand, and be confident to answer their questions quickly and accurately. If you do not have the answer, simply explain that you do not have that information, but it is easily obtainable. Make notes on what you need to get for them, get it, and follow up ASAP. Once they have the answers and information, the ball is rolling. Just hope that your property offders teh value they need. Sell them on the Benefits, not the features. Nobody cares how nice your website is. They only care if it works to reach their customers, and land them new customers. And if you can measure and prove that to your advertisers, you are even better off.
Good luck! |
