Default backlinking articles

hey guys I've been writing articles for a few months...pretty boring but i like it. I've only got like 60 articles cause I've been studying pretty hard at uni. I think i write pretty well but the thing is my articles dont get ranked up very high compared to others.

Anyway i just wanted to ask am i meant to backlink my articles?! (I know how nooby is that! but i havent been paying attention ) but like just a couple of days ago i was looking through Warriors Forum and some people were promoting backlink for articles and stuff. So i bought it and gave it a try.

Then i have ppl saying not to do it like that because theres just too many ppl buying the links and its considered spamming (which i think is true). My question is:

1. If im ment to backlink my articles, how do i FIND MY OWN high PR sites to link too or is it ok to buy these links and post it because "everyone else is doing it" (im just worried that in the long run google will be like wait a sec...)

2. Is there a program to tell me what backlink an article has? (i tried backlink watch) but that doesnt do articles

3. Dioes backlinking my article make a difference?

Im not sure if this is the right discussion point to place this thread in. If it is not please send me a pm so i can post it somewhere else.

I did try looking through the forum but i couldnt find a post like this. Also i just wanted another forums opinion aswell.

Thanks

I presume you are talking about articles you submit to article directories. The ones that contain backlinks to your site or blog in the authors biobox

I think that getting backlinks to your articles helps. [ read this post on getting the most out of your ezinearticles]

Also to get your articles to rank high you need to do some on page seo when writing the articles

ok so heres my update for ppl who find this thread.

My articles were no where to found in google (well most of them) and only like 5-10 were somewhere in the first 2 pages of google over like 3-4 niches.

So ive been actually backlinking my article with angela and pauls packets and now many of them are ranked top 10 for the keyword phrase =D!

Question <--- i hope someone answers

HOW DO ANGELA AND PAUL FIND THOSE SITES???? doing my head in
