Lightbulb Are your articles duplicate content?

There are many different article sharing sites and article submission services. I have about twenty articles on article sharing sites and most are from my own blog posts. I'm wondering if there is a danger of being considered duplicate content when using our articles on our own sites. Or should we wait for Google to index the articles on our site before we start submitting them to others?

You first post it to your blog and than distribute to article site that would be nice option.

Thanks Azher, so I guess as long as my site gets indexed first I'm ok?

I'm really sure about it and I have been seeking for an answer about that but got different perspective, so what I do nowadays is to create on article for my blog, and another for submitting to article directories.

Thanks jabo. That seems like a lot of work writing two similar articles while using enough different words to make them unique. I wonder how much the article needs to differ from each other. Just re-arranging paragraphs or sentences probably wouldn't change Googlebot's results.
